Island Pacific School is a small private, non-profit middle school on Bowen Island. The school must attract students from the Lower Mainland of British Columbia with competition from several high profile private schools located where no ferry is required to reach them from their target market. The primary goals of the site include attracting to potential parents to sign up for a school visit, and to engage parents to make repeat site visits to stay abreast of school activities.
The project budget was modest, and there was a significant amount of content developed for the previous version of the site. We prioritized our efforts to organize and update the content with a new information architecture, rather than investing in a custom site design, and we focused on enabling the school staff to maintain the site themselves.
